Stair Treads

At Timber Floors Pty Ltd, our hardwood stair treads and landing platforms are manufactured in-house to suit each individual staircase. This means we can craft the timber components around each staircase, rather than relying solely on standardised sizes. It also gives us greater control over details like tread dimensions, landings, starting steps, nosings, and other timber elements. Our Stair Treads start at 285mm x 32mm thickness, widths vary according to the Clients needs. We also offer thicker treads like 62mm or on a made-to-order basis. Anti-slip stair strips can be fitted if required.

Risers

We can custom-build risers to coordinate with your staircase's treads and overall design. Smoothly transition between steps with timber Stair Risers. Installed vertically between stair treads on traditional stairways. High-quality wood is formed and finished to blend effortlessly into your stair design. The standard riser is 19mm thick and is usually made from 19mm thick tongue and groove flooring; however, we also offer pine options for clients who wish to paint the riser.

Stringers

Stringers play an important structural and visual role in a staircase, and their design needs to work with both the layout and the chosen tread profile. At Timber Floors Pty Ltd, we take both of these factors into account when developing your staircase to ensure the structure and the finished appearance work together. Depending on the design, you can combine timber components with thick hardwood treads, saw-cut stringers, or contemporary steel structures, for unique custom designer stairs that suit your home’s architecture.

Nosings

The nosing is fashioned from matching hardwoods for a complete staircase creation. All our treads are made to each client's individual likes. Among our selections are anti-slip nosings, slip-resistant nosings, or step nosings.

Handrails

Our premium timber handrails can be made to coordinate with your staircase design for a cohesive look. Using advanced machinery and custom dedicated tooling, our experienced craftsmen work hard to ensure that your handrail will be a stable centrepiece for your staircase. Wood, aluminium, or stainless steel handrails top off the experience with elegance you can feel.

Balusters

Our selection of balusters adds personality and character to your staircase or railing system. A baluster, often referred to as stair spindles, combines true architectural features with expert craftsmanship. Timber Floors Pty Ltd offers a great iron baluster selection that features powder-coated finishes, combined with professional craftsmanship, that will last generations. We also offer styles for curved stairs that offer the creative, eye-catching styles you’ll find in modern architecture. Strong and sturdy, balusters are made to last. Newel Posts

Newels are the anchor of a staircase. A newel post serves as a support pole that helps bear the weight of the rest of the staircase. Newels are always found at the base of a flight of stairs and you will also find newels at the top of the staircase. Newels are also placed at junctures where the staircase changes directions. So for every change in direction on the staircase, whether it’s a transition to a level landing or a 90º turn, you will need a newel to complete that turn.
